A brand new choir for teachers and leaders of music in schools across Cornwall Starting in January 2024! Details on how to join can be found on our website www.cornwallyouthchoirs.co.uk Running your own school choir can be challenging especially if you are a reluctant singer' or possibly haven't sung in a choir since your school days. Even worse! maybe you were told that you ' couldn't sing' but always wanted to? Perhaps you've been asked to lead your own school choir and don't know where to start? The Cornwall Music Teachers Choir is a brand new unique community singing group and a CPD opportunity. You'll learn hands-on choral skills to take back and use with your own school choir through the songs we sing together and at the same time connect with other like-minded people to raise the roof and SING! Together we'll develop a singing network in Cornwall that links a passion for singing with professional development. Led by Angela Renshaw and the Cornwall Youth Choir Team Sessions will be held on a monthly basis. |

On Tuesday 15th August, members of Cornwall Youth Choir had a great day out in Falmouth performing at the Tall Ships event. They performed in two different locations to fantastic audiences - once on Events Square and then head to the Docks to sing on the main stage next to the Tall Ships. The choir sang a wonderful selection of pieces and finished with a rousing rendition of Cornwall My Home (arranged by Matt Douglas). After their performances, the choir made their way over to Swanpool beach for a well deserved afternoon of watersports and an evening barbeque - a big thank you to the team at Elemental for a great day! The choir are looking forward to coming together for their first rehearsal of the new term in September. |
Cornwall Youth Choir were delighted to receive a letter of congratulations from Sir David Attenborough following their success in Hull at the INTERKULTUR International Choir Competition. The choir had written to Sir David sharing their wonderful news once they returned to the county with two gold awards and a special prize for using the choral art to raise awareness of environmental issues. They received a handwritten letter in reply. |
